Starting the Christmas Card Process

Yes, I am blogging and not drawing up Christmas cards. It is not a matter of negligence. In fact, I have been tossing ideas back and forth in my mind constantly for the last week. I love the blessing of Nativity, and there is lots of peace and joy to share. Ideas, but nothing seems quite right this year.

It is not the Nativity story, but the situation in which we find ourselves. Across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia thousands of Christians are in terror for their lives because of their faith.  At home in our country, our government labels Christians as a terrorists, and causing many of them are too frightened to speak openly. I find these things hard to ignore or sweep to the side. Postage is expense, and for some people this is the one chance per year I have the opportunity to send a message of hope and comfort.

That is why, it is more important than ever for the card to be a special gift of Christ love.  I struggle because I keep trying to make it my task, when I should be leaving it up to God. Lord, have mercy on me, and show me the images and words that will convey your message to my friends and family. Amen.
